Choosing the Right Color Temperature
- 2700K: Warm white, cozy and inviting, ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, and hospitality.
- 3000K: Soft white, warm but slightly crisper, popular for kitchens and retail.
- 3500K: Neutral white, balanced and versatile, suits offices and multi-purpose spaces.
- 4000K: Cool white, clean and alert, common in offices, healthcare, and commercial environments.
- 5000K: Daylight, bright and energizing, suited to task-heavy commercial and utility areas.
All LumaPro models use a single adjustable 5CCT switch, so you can set the color temperature at installation without stocking multiple SKUs.
Choosing the Right Beam Angle
- 90°: Tighter spread for focused ambient lighting in smaller rooms or lower ceilings.
- 100°: Medium spread for general residential and retail use.
- 110°: Wide spread for large open areas, hallways, and spaces needing broad, uniform coverage.
For general lighting, wider beam angles reduce the number of fixtures needed to achieve even coverage. Spacing fixtures roughly half the ceiling height apart is a common starting point.
Where to Use It and Layout Tips
- Kitchens and hallways: Wide beam angles (100° to 110°) deliver broad, even coverage without dark spots.
- Living rooms and bedrooms: Warm CCT settings (2700K to 3000K) with dimmable control for comfortable ambiance.
- Offices and retail: Neutral to cool CCT (3500K to 4000K) with Ra90 for accurate color rendering.
- Hospitality spaces: Round trims with Bright White or Rose Gold reflectors for a refined aesthetic.
- Architectural ceilings: Square DF trims align cleanly with grid ceilings and geometric layouts.
The twin-head DF5236 and DF5248 models are well suited to longer ceiling spans where a single aperture would leave gaps in coverage.
Dimming and Installation Notes
- Use a dimmer rated for LED loads and confirm compatibility before installation.
- Stay within the dimmer's minimum and maximum load range, especially when running multiple fixtures on one circuit.
- Verify the ceiling cutout against the model's cutout range before cutting: round models range from 55 mm (DC5202) up to 190 to 220 mm (DC5208); square models from 75 × 75 mm (DF5203) up to 190 × 190 mm (DF5208).
- Fixture height ranges from H40 mm to H55 mm depending on model. Confirm sufficient ceiling depth before installation.
- The spring-clip mount allows tool-free securing once the fixture is wired.
- Installation should be completed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical codes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the DC and DF series?
DC models have a round trim and are available in 7W to 36W. DF models have square or rectangular trims, including twin-head configurations (2×9W and 2×12W) for wider ceiling coverage in a single cutout.
Can I set the color temperature after installation?
Yes. Each fixture has an onboard 5CCT switch that lets you select from 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, or 5000K before or during installation.
What does Ra80 vs Ra90 mean?
CRI measures how accurately a light source renders colors compared to natural light. Ra90 gives more accurate, truer color rendering and is recommended for retail, hospitality, and any space where color quality matters. Ra80 is standard for general residential and commercial use.
Is the LumaPro Series dimmable?
Yes, all models are fully dimmable. Use an LED-rated dimmer and confirm load compatibility.
Which reflector finish should I choose?
Bright White is the most versatile and blends with most white ceiling designs. Bright Black and Shiny Black suit dark or feature ceilings. Shiny Silver and Rose Gold work well in contemporary or accent-focused interiors.
